Bruno Lucchesi is perhaps best known for his smaller figures and is genre sculptures, but he also does major, large commissioned pieces. His sculptures have been added to the collections of the Whitney Museum of American ARt, The Brooklyn Museuem, the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, among others. He has received awards from the National Academy, which elected him Member in 1975, the National Arts Club, and the Architectural League, and he was a Guggenheim Fellow in 1962-63. Bruno lives in New York.

Wow, what a book. I have been searching for the right book to help me build a human body that looked believable in sculpture and this is the one. Lucchesi creates the form by first creating an armature, then building a skeleton onto it (ribcage, pelvic girdle, etc.), then adding the muscles, then adding the skin. A must for anyone who would love to sculpt anatomy like Rodin and Michelangelo. Lucchesi's head book is just as good.

Leider kann ich dieses Buch nicht empfehlen für Leute, die Figuren oder Puppen aus Polymerclay modellieren wollen. Mich hat das eher an ein Anatomiebuch für angehende Ärzte erinnert. Da werden genau die Knochen, Sehnen und die Muskeln Stück für Stück genau anmodelliert. Vielleicht geeignet für Kunststudenten.

It was a fun an very much entertaining read - however the story’s of chauvinism, excessive party’s, excessive work hours and skipping the gym did not align very well with my goal of the year to get in shape and treat my body well... however I made good progress es at work since I am now pulling off 12h days on a regular basis.

sehr gutes Buch! man sollte es nicht allzu ernst nehmen.Wer einmal im Vertrieb im Grossraumbuero, das von Männern dominiert wurde, gearbeitet hat, kann vieles nachvollziehen und weiss, dass es wesentlich vulgärer zugeht, als die 'seriösen' Wirtschaftsbosse einem weiss machen wollen

Ein humorvoller und ungeschönter Einblick in die verruchten Zeiten der Wallstreetbanker!

Das Buch erzählt in größtenteils (hoffentlich) übertriebener Form Teile des Berufslebens eines Investmentbankers während der Boomphase dieser Branche.Es ist analog der Tweets sehr überzeichnet und von einer gewissen Arroganz und Prahlerei getrieben und trieft vor Ironie, allerdings passt das auf charmante Art und Weise zur Selbstwahrnehmung einiger Banker.

Viel gelacht dabei, genau mein Humor!

Das Buch ist weitgehend eine Anektdoten-Sammlung - seien sie nun selber erlebt oder nicht. Ab dem 6. Kapitel ("I'll Call You on Your Cell") wird es gelegentlich mühsam, wenn Feinheiten des Finanzwesens beschrieben werden, die Laien nichts sagen.Besonders gelungen fand ich, dass nach jedem der 22 Kapitel eine Seite mit - sagen wir mal "Aphorismen" - eingeschoben wird. Wer Spaß an Ironie und Zynismus hat, wird das ganze Buch genießen, wer nicht, sollte die Finger davon lassen. Als Test drei Stück:* Why trust a justice system where all the smart people get out of jury duty?"* Each comma in your bank account adds an inch to your dick.* My first wife was vehemently pro-life until my girlfriend got pregnant.
